KICKS 2013 - Kids In Christ's Kingdom - Serving!
KICKS is a free summer day camp for kids entering 1st – 9thgrade, held on five Wednesdays each summer from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. This summer we celebrate our 10th year of Summer KICKS!
SERVING GOD and NEIGHBOR. Five Bible stories about serving will provide the foundation for this year’s KICKS program. Here's our daily plan:
June 19: Jesus tells a story about the Last Day – “Where were you when I was hungry?” Matthew 25:31-46 Field Trip: MN Science Museum
June 26: The LORD appears to the boy Samuel – “Speak, LORD, your servant is listening.” 1 Samuel 3 Field Trip: Como Pool
July 10: Jesus Feeds 5,000 – “You yourselves give them something to eat.” Matthew 14: 13-21 Field Trip: Feed My Starving Children for older kids & service game at church for younger kids
July 17: Jesus washes his disciples feet & Jesus on the Cross John 13:1, 19:28-30 Field Trip: Lake Elmo Park Reserve picnic and swimming
July 24: The Parable of the Good Samaritan – “Who is my neighbor?” Luke 10:25-37 Field Trip: Walk to Sharing Korner Food Shelf to deliver food collected, neighborhood clean-up contest, Service Fair & Ice Cream Party
DONATIONS to help support the program and A NEW MURAL! The kids had so much fun when we painted a mural a few years ago, so we’re going to do it again! Can you help to financially support this effort? Any amount is greatly appreciated! Here are two options to give:
1) Go to GiveMN.org, enter “Christ Lutheran on Capitol Hill” in the search window. Click on “Youth Summer KICKS Program”. Enter the amount you’d like to give, and follow the directions for setting up a GiveMN account. It’s fast, secure, and easy!
